With the Oct. 6 Ontario election campaign in full swing, a recent poll by Angus Reid indicates a tight three way race.
If the election were held today, 38 per cent of Ontario would vote for Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak, 31 per cent for Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty and 24 per cent would cast their ballot for NDP Leader Andrea Horwath, according to the poll. Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner trails with 6 per cent.
Only 24 per cent of those surveyed said the Liberals should be re-elected with 20 per cent responding that they were unsure if there’s a need for change.
Premier McGuinty’s approval rating sits at 33 per cent with 57 per cent disapproving of his performance. In comparison, Mr. Hudak has a similarly lacklustre 35 per cent approval rating and 45 per cent disapproval with Ms. Horwath enjoying 39 per cent approval and 27 per cent disapproval. Mr. Schreiner has 16 per cent approval and 26 per cent disapproval.
