We held our Open House on July 16, 2015. Today, 218 days later, we would like to reflect on 9 key points that we have learnt since that day.
- Networking is crucial. Thank you to the many individuals who have let us know about different groups and organizations where we have been able to meet other professionals, colleagues and potential clients.
- The courtesy and professionalism of the lawyers of Durham Region. Bar None!
- Never underestimate how welcoming a jar of truffles is to visitors to your office.
- Creating an open, colourful work environment helps us work better and more efficiently.
- Helping others feel good. We are currently preparing our next batch of loot bags for The Krinkle Project, and are proud to have forged relationships with women’s shelters throughout Durham Region.
- Location, location, location. We are fortunate to be located directly across the hall from DRAR –Durham Region Association of REALTORS®, who have become great neighbours, along with all the other commercial tenants at 50 Richmond Street East.
- Though we have met many naysayers, Downtown Oshawa will continue to prosper and develop, as new merchants develop a footprint in this community. Kudos to the Downtown Oshawa BIA, who work hard on developing and implementing strategic programs to ensure this part of the city continues to be a vibrant destination for those who live and work in Durham Region.
- The people of Durham Region who work hard to ensure that the next generation will have the opportunity to be educated, employed and raise families in an affordable, dynamic community. We have been fortunate to attend several events hosted by The Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce and are confident that the future in strong!
- Building a new business takes time and a lot of effort. Thank you to everyone who has welcomed us to the community, offered suggestions and guidance, and made us feel “at home”. We appreciate your kindness more than words can express.
