Durham Region Association of REALTORS® hosted its Annual Christmas Dinner & Charity Auction on December 3, 2015 at the Jubilee Pavilion in Oshawa.
The Charity Auction proceeds, Glass House key sales, Raffle sales, Heads or Tails sales and monetary donations totaled over $14,000! The proceeds will be divided between two wonderful charities: Jennifer Ashleigh Children’s Charity and the Simcoe Hall Settlement House.
On behalf of DRAR’s Charity Auction Committee, the Association would like to thank the many members and business partners who donated to the Charity Auction, which made the night a fabulous success!
Long Service Pins were awarded to the following Members:
- 25 Years: Ray Anthony, Helen Bevis, Darlene Binnekamp, Lee Colby, Joseph Murkl, Pat Schwartzenhauer & Judith Ward
- 30 Years: Michael Baird, Brenda Casteels & Philip Lack
- 35 Years: David Andrews, Margaret Bain, Ralph Fairman, Doug Humphrey, Linda Kubota, Dave Marden, David Tonkin, David Watkins & Chuck Willes
- 40 Years: Joe Jeronimo, Keith Puckrin & Jim Trudeau
Anne Henry and Lorella Sahakian of CMHC presented the “CMHC Award of Distinction” to Noel Coppins of RE/MAX Jazz Inc. This prestigious award is presented to a member of the Durham Region Association of REALTORS® who has direct or indirect Association involvement, community involvement, commitment and service to the industry, promotes the industry and is a goodwill person. Noel has been a member of DRAR since 1989 and exemplifies professionalism in Real Estate and the Community. Noel has raised funds for the local ALS foundation and is the founder of WEE/MAX, supporting Lakeridge Health Oshawa by raising over $50,000 in its first year, funds that were used to purchase two infant resuscitators.
The 2016 Board of Directors was sworn in by Blair Buchanan, DRAR Past President. Sandra O’Donohue will be sitting as Board President again in 2016 and will be joined by Jane Hurst, Immediate Past President; Roger Bouma, President-Elect and Director-at-Large; Tina Sorichetti, Durham North Director; Tony Wilson, Durham Centre Director; Sue Duchesnay, Durham West Director; Dennis Roberts, Director-at-Large and Vicki Sweeny, Durham East Director.
“All in all our evening was a great success,” commented President Sandra O’Donohue. “It is wonderful to share an evening with such a giving group of Real Estate professionals and I look forward to working alongside our 2016 Board of Directors!”
